Buy in bulk and store well

Rice, pasta, canned beans, canned tomatoes, tortillas, frozen vegetables, cooking oil, salsa, and commonly used seasonings. Freeze extra meat in labeled recipe-size portions.

Buy closer to meal day

Romaine, avocados, prepared slaw, fresh peppers, and salad kits. Check pantry and freezer inventory first to avoid overbuying.
